I have finally got my new Christmas set up for shoots. I will be doing shoots between now and the 22nd December.
A bit about the Shoots.. the full shoot cost is £35. This includes 20 minutes Shoot time and your choice of 5 Edited Images from the gallery. You are welcome to purchase extra images / the whole gallery once you have viewed your album if you wish. A non refundable deposit of £15 is due upon booking to secure your slot and the remaining £20 balance will be due on the day of your shoot.
Up to 3 siblings per session, this is due to the size of the set. If you need more time you can book at second slot.
I was best man for the wedding of Paul and Jessica on the 22nd March 2022 at Styal Lodge, Cheshire.
What an amazing Day!
As part of my wedding gift I took the prototype of my PhotoBox. This is a photo booth that produces amazing Images and is going to be available for hire very soon. It’s designed with a studio light and a mirrorless camera. You can see the images as they are taken on the built in screen.
After the event all images are sorted, edited, then delivered digitally. This is as simple as push the button and smile. The kids thought it was amazing as no waiting for prints before you could take the next picture and no-one was telling them “that’s enough”
What an absolute pleasure to be able to shoot this wonderful little girl. She was 9 days late when born and 9 days old when she came for her shoot. She is a model in the making! She was so alert, active and mobile. Watching everything that was going on. Striking a pose for every shot. Michelle my wife made a giant Christmas wreath and I may be biased but we got some amazing Images.
Mum and Nanna wanted it to be a surprise for Christmas so I am only posting now, it was worth the wait.
We hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas, get in touch for the new year if you want to plan a specific shoot.
All the very best for 2022, we hope it’s a special year filled with health and happiness for you all.
The 09/01/2021, the UK is in lockdown. The idea of being able to get out in the New year and create is becoming a distant memory. The few hours I got back at the beginning of December 2020 seems like a lifetime ago.
We are probably not alone in these feelings! This is hard enough for people who can live normal lives at home, so many people can’t – so many trapped by lockdown and all the extra stress it brings with it. That’s something we know a lot about!
We are parents of a disabled child, our youngest on the Autistic spectrum. He also has developmental delay and severe learning difficulties and anxiety. Anyone who knows or lives with anyone with a disability like this understands when I say lockdown has not been easy. In fact it has been one of the toughest times we have had to face.
People on the spectrum don’t like change, they thrive on routine. They function in a way that a change can unbalance their lives completely. Normally it has to be introduced gradually, integrating whatever is changing and making it normal over time. Adults and children on the spectrum who are not as severe learn coping strategies to deal with things neurotypicals just see as mundane, run of the mill, easy life situations.
Big change, constant change, total change – that is something that needs time to work into life. That is something we haven’t had over the past 12 months. Change has been a daily thing and not just little things. The change has been giant, massive, all-encompassing. Life has changed as we know it.
Try to explain that to a child who is nearly ten, but has the understanding of a 3-4 year old. A child who can’t express their emotions, so the sort of massive change triggers violence or massive anxiety.
This is what we have lived with for 9 years, the last 12 months being the hardest we have known. We are attacked for saying the wrong thing, sitting in the wrong place, moving in the wrong direction, we have to watch as the rage subsides and turn into anxiety and sometimes worse.
We are not alone, millions of others will go through what we go through. Whether it is as a career or with their own mental health.
On Saturday, after a week were we had built him up to go to school, only to be told it was closed, to be told no-one could have seen this coming. To have to tell him his world was changing again and again. To say to school anyone could see this coming, to demand that school must be reopened for him and his fellow students, all on the spectrum.
We needed escape, we needed change. For our own mental health, so not to have to sit and be abused by a boy who can’t help himself. We got in the car and drove, drove and carried on driving.
He is relatively calm in the car. The noise, the world passing by his window. He still tells us if we say the wrong thing or do the wrong thing, we are not attacked for it, we are not sat in the same four walls facing the same situation. So we drove for 4 and a half hours. 150 mile round trip, stopping only to let him put his feet in the deepest snow he had ever seen and to fly the drone for 10 mins.
The reason I started this channel was to create, was to get out and make something. To do something more than working and be a full-time career. We have had one day off this year. One day when we could sleep in bed together for more than 2 or 3 hours, sit on the same sofa together. One day to just be normal husband and wife, just do nothing or anything, whatever takes our fancy.
This channel is not about Autism or raising a disabled child, it is about creating something that is just for me, to show I can still have a normal life.
Hopefully one day soon that will be true.
Here is the short video I managed to create in the 10 mins we had.
Hope you give it a like and subscribe.
We had the most amazing sunset I have seen in a long time, no chance of capturing that. I hope some of you had your cameras out.
Till next time, stay safe, take care and Thanks for watching
The road from Rivington to Belmount is usually a pleasant and scenic drive. On the 1st January 2021, it was anything but pleasant. We waited at the start of the ascend on the Rivington, as drivers in cars of all types tried to power their way up the snow-filled, icy road. The panic as they started to slide backwards as their wheels spun.
Once it was clear we made our way up, slow and steady – just keeping traction. What awaited us was a glorious vista, Winter Hill shrouded in a white blanket, and the surrounding landscape, with all its rolling undulations coated in a crisp white layer of snow.
It looked like the 4×4 club had met at the top and local landowners or their children were out on the quads, having great fun.
The drone went up at the top and a couple of images captured on the way back.
In this my second Youtube Video I capture some aerial footage over Southport Marine lake and our old Iron Pier. It is now a Grade II listed structure, as well as the oldest iron pier in the country, standing for over 150 years.
At 1000m long it is also the second longest Pier in the country. A walk to the end offers you views across the North West and on a clear day you can see neighbouring Blackpool and even the North Wales coast.
I am hoping to put together a longer Video in the New Year, I just wanted to get some more content up before the year was out. Hope you give it a like and subscribe.
I would like to wish you all HAPPY NEW YEAR I hope 2021 brings with it Health & Happiness for everyone
We all know this year has been tough on a lot of people! Families have been separated from loved ones for a long time. None more so than residents in care homes.
My sister works in homes and has done for many years. Before Covid she was a hairdresser in several, with everything changing she went on staff to care for residents. She has a heart of gold and really wanted to do something for Christmas for these families and residents.
She put out a wanted on FB and I offered to do what I could. It was all done properly – full testing, kept away from residents, worked from an entrance hall.
The results are something really great, a video for the residents from their families and photos for the families of all the residents. I have shared below, with the permission of the families of course.
To the families Merry Christmas, I hope you like what we put together. You have a really fantastic team looking after your loved ones
A massive thank you and full credit to https://www.elfisanta.uk/ for allowing use of their video.
We are very lucky where we live, we get glorious skies – with epic sunsets. Sometimes we get even more. Here is the epic rainbow from last week and the sunrise from the other day.
So in the new year I plan to get out a couple of times a month and make a few more videos for Youtube. To increase the production value and to allow me to get images I wouldn’t normally be able to I now have a drone.
If you haven’t seen my first Youtube attempt, you can check out my blog here or watch directly on youtube here
If you do give it a watch, please be kind – it was my first go afterall.
In this my first ever Youtube Video I visit Worthington Lakes. I was heading for Fairy Glen in Parbold. On approach people were queuing to park and get in, so I continued up the road and pulled in at the Lakes.
Worthington Lakes lie within the Douglas Valley between Wigan to the south and Chorley to the north, with road access off the A5106. The lakes, made up of three reservoirs built to supply Wigan with drinking water, are fed by the River Douglas which originates on the moors above Rivington and runs through a small Woodland area.
The photography was a fail, I was focused on making a video and have to get used to doing both things at once. The day was perfect for a winter walk and the surroundings lovely. Overall it was a creative success, I got out and I created something. Hope you give it a like and subscribe.
Lovely Mocha, her 13th Birthday today and what better way to celebrate than with a photoshoot. She has wise old eyes and legs that can’t quite keep up like they used to. That doesn’t stop her from trying bouncing around like she is still a puppy. Happy Birthday Mocha 🙂
This offer is for a Pet portrait shoot for Only £50. You could always add more time to capture more images or travel further afield if you have a specific location in mind.
You can always add the option of having any Image turned into a Signature edit for Larger Print.
Tuesday 15th September and Michelle had a class, so I drove her in. That gave me around an hour and a half to have a wander and see what I could see.
The sky was dull as we drove in but started to pink up a little as we got to the end of Scotty Road. I could see the shot I wanted as we made our way up to the cathedral, I dropped Michelle off and headed back down to the waterfront. Every light was red, every turn blocked, roads closed and diversions. I missed it…
Annoyed but not put off I had a quick re-think and headed back in, parking in front of Liverpool World Museum. It is such a fantastic collection of old architecture around there. I wandered around for about an hour and captured a few shots. Not what I initially wanted, still – pleased with what I got. Strange seeing the Empire so quiet!

December was the last time we got a day off together, it has been a long nine months. Finally, we had a light at the end of a long tunnel and the opportunity for a quick couple of nights and a Day away. If you have read before you will know we have a child on the Spectrum. Autism can be hard, made even harder by the current state of affairs in the world. At least though, that long needed respite was in sight and we booked to go to Harrogate, for those who don’t know a town in North Yorkshire, England.
After everything was sorted out with work on the Wednesday morning and after a nice drive, over from Southport on the A59 – through Preston and out into the Ribble valley. Past Whalley, Clitheroe and Gisburn. Onwards through Skipton, stopping for a spot of late lunch, before continuing on to Harrogate. All the afore mentioned places are well worth a visit, if you have never been. Our destination though was set.
We arrived at our hotel at around 3, a little later than planned. The weather was not great! We were staying in the Cedar Court Hotel and I must say we can only recommend it. The staff were excellent, the rooms clean and the saftey of guest at the forefront.
The hotel itself is set about 10 mins walk outside of town along the Stray, a long area of public parkland in the center of Harrogate, comprising 200 acres of grass parkland. It made for a fantastic view out of the bay window as we sat with our drinks. Watching the world go by. The rest of the afternoon and eveing was just about relaxing, a few drinks and a lovely evening meal.
Thursday was a different story, the sun was blazing in as we sat and took our breakfast. We finished up and headed into town. The images below are just a few I captured as we spent the morning in Harrogate, roaming through the Valley Gardens and taking in the sights before heading to Ripon in the Afternoon to Visit the Cathedral. We did pass by mother Shiptons Cave, Knarsbourgh, The number of people though, I just don’t know how anybody could be socially distancing.
I hope you enjoy the images and I have included links to more information about the places we visited. Thanks for reading
This boy loves his Kong Balls and he is a chunk. Have to move fast to get out of his way when he overruns. Contact me if you want to book a shoot for your animal friend.
Being the father of a child with Autism time is not really something that we have a lot of. The period of lockdown – has for us, like for many been exceptionally challenging! Being able to grab an hour is hard, sometimes though it is very rewarding. This was the case on Friday evening, looking at the sky I thought it might be an amazing Southport sunset.
Our town is starting to look a little dilapidated now, Lord street isn’t what it once was. We used to be the “Jewel in the Crown” of Lancashire, a real attraction. Over the years that has been stripped away as we moved into Sefton and seemed to become the runt of the litter when it comes to investment and care. Lord Street has never looked so poor, sure they may put some hanging baskets and planters up. Real investment seems to be a thing of the past, with the care of our lovely historical buildings following closely behind. Take a look up next time you drive or walk along lord street, the condition of the buildings are terrible.
One thing they can’t take away though is our Pier, it still stands proud and now holds the title of the oldest iron pier in Great Britain and the second-longest in England. It is still a beautiful landmark protruding from our coastline, standing proud after all this time. The beach may not look like it used to, but the pier stands strong.
So on Friday evening, we settled our youngest and I grabbed my bag and Tripod and headed to the front to grab some images. Over that 30 minute period, I was rewarded with a stunning sunset, followed by a colour explosion in the sky behind me and a lovely Waxing Gibbous Moon.
Hope you like the images, please leave a comment below and let me know what you think.

This year I was lucky enough to Ski in 3 different countries in 4 days. The last stop on this years ski tour was Italy, the Alta Badia ski resort in the Dolomites.
The Image was captured from above Corvara. The Dolomites are a stunning sight to see, different somehow to the Alps in Austria and Switzerland the other two countries skied.
I love the way the clouds are begining to move around the mountain. You can see them starting to whisp through the gaps.
My first time in Italy, I will be going back!

The Lake District walking from Derwent water into the Borrowdale Valley. I love the way the rock formations lead you back down to the valley floor, through to Derwent water and Keswick in the far distance. The river Derwent runs through the trees to the right next to Hollows Farm, continuing on passing through Grange, often referred to as Grange in Borrowdale, which has a lovely little tea shop.

We don't have many hills or waterfalls in Southport, we are lucky to see some epic sunsets. Add the oldest Iron pier in the country and a couple of seagulls and you have a glorious image. One of my favorites.

Exploring in Betws-y-coed in October 2019, we decided to walk up to Swallow falls. The amount of rain that had fallen meant the falls in Betws-y-Coed were heavy. We set off from the falls, following the boardwalk along the river and through the trees and the wooded dell.
We picked up the track down to the river and walked along it through the meadows, climbing up to the Miners’ Bridge. We crossed here to walk the other side of the riverbank, before climbing the steps out of the gorge we stopped for half an hour and I captured this Image. We just had a little sun breaking through which gave some lovely little rainbows.
After we carried on up the river onwards to Swallow falls.
